PA MACHINING

Polyamides (PA) are engineering plastics that can be cast or extruded.

Extruded polyamides are:

PA 6: good dimensional stability, high chemical resistance and very good impact strength
PA 66: hardness, mechanical resistance, service temperature and dimensional stability better than PA 6

Both materials can be filled with MoS2 (good UV resistance and surface hardness) or glass fiber (better mechanical resistance and dimensional thermal stability).

PA 6 G is a cast polyamide with:

high degree of crystallinity
low friction
high toughness
good mechanical resistance

PA 6 G filled with MoS2 improves surface hardness and increases UV resistance. Cast polyamides are also filled with solid lubricant to have excellent sliding properties.
